It’s the most exciting time of the year for the Triangle’s new home market; the countdown to the Triangle Parade of Homes. The annual Triangle Parade of Homes, N.C.’s largest open house presented by the Home Builders Association of Raleigh–Wake County and the Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange and Chatham Counties, runs September 30 – October 1, October 6-8 and 13-15 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. This annual tour is the best way to view the latest homes and the newest communities throughout the Triangle.

More than 250 homes will welcome visitors. Many homes are decorated, showcasing innovative ideas and the hottest design trends. The tour is free, self-guided and open to the public. This year Bost Homes is featuring two marvelous luxury homes in the parade, one in Chatham County and one in Wake. Both homes will be furnished, decorated, landscaped, and open for YOU to tour.

  • Exotic LED ambient lighting throughout the home, most notably beneath each stair tread of the foyer staircase
  • Latest smart home technology controls and automates lighting, music, comfort, and security
  • Unique back-lit quartzite floor in wine cellar
  • Spacious scullery adjacent to chef’s kitchen with custom walnut cabinetry and quartzite counters on massive center island
  • Glass door elevator with windows to the backyard and LED lighting in the shaft
  • Motorized luggage hatch and “wardrobe elevators” in owner’s closet
  • Libation bar, billiards, motorized shades, & theater in lofty recreation room
  • Folding panel glass doors create large opening to cabana with phantom screens and outdoor kitchen
  • Continuing from the phantom screened porch: spa, infinity edge pool, underwater fire feature, outdoor living room with fireplace and TV, & outdoor shower
  • Solar panel lounge pavilion beyond the pool

The Lodge at Avalaire attracted nearly 3,000 guests during the first weekend of the 2017 Triangle Parade of Homes.

In addition to lifestyle enhancing features, The Lodge is built to premium construction standards and achieves remarkable energy and water efficiency. We also included zero VOC paint throughout the home, mostly natural stone and hardwood floors, and a dehumidifier that continuously cycles fresh air into the HVAC system. Here’s a list of the high-performance building features that are present at The Lodge:

  • A 3,500 gallon FreeRain ® rainwater harvesting system collects runoff from the gutters and yard, filters it, and reuses it for irrigation
  • Low Emissivity glass and argon filled dual pane windows and doors. The glass on exterior windows and doors have a thin layer of titanium dioxide that uses the sun’s UV rays to loosen dirt and debris for easy, chemical-free cleaning.
  • Energy Star Certified and Duke Energy HERO compliant
  • Advanced framing techniques and engineered wood products require less lumber and create more space for insulation
  • Full spray foam insulation and air sealing package, sealed attics, and a sealed crawl space along with Zip Wall sheathing create a tight, continuous air and vapor barrier around the perimeter of the home. Sealed crawl & attics create semi-conditioned space for storage and HVAC duct work, which helps the cooling/heating equipment run more efficiently
  • Water saving dual flush toilets throughout, and self sanitizing toilet in the master
  • Highly efficient 20 SEER, variable-speed HVAC is downsized based on air tightness. Variable speed system uses a percentage of available power based on demand, and introduces fresh, dehumidified air via an integrated Ultra-Aire dehumidifier
  • 100% of lighting throughout the home is LED, and several sun tunnels and skylights provide natural day-lighting and solar powered electronic venting
  • The 32 panel, 9 kW grid-tied solar array atop the poolside pavilion offsets approximately 45% of the homes’ electricity needs per year
  • A whole house Reverse Osmosis and remineralization system provides pure water to all fixtures in the home. Zero-VOC paint and a radon remediation system alongside the controlled ventilation of the HVAC system ensure pure, healthy air inside the home
  • Solid fiberglass front door provides better insulation than wood and aluminum,
  • Engineered slate roof is made of 100% recycled plastic and manufactured regionally
  • This house is tight!!! It measured 2.6 Air changes per hour @ 50 pascals by a blower door test
