  • What brought you to the building industry?
  • Rex is my father, so I’ve always been surrounded by construction. Growing up there were plenty of Saturday projects, multiple renovations to our home, and a few teenage years when I cleaned up jobsites and ushered during the Parade of Homes. When I was a young kid we lived on 2 acres outside of Wendell and we acquired our water from an insufficient well. I remember the day a giant tank was buried in our back yard to collect all roof runoff to be pumped out as irrigation supply, and that was so cool to me. This event laid the foundation for my fascination with resource-conscious building techniques, and self-sufficiency in general.
  • What’s your educational background?
  • BS in Business Admin: Marketing and a minor in Psychology.
  • What’s your role?
  • I have an evolving role – my title at this point is Director of Marketing and Client Relations, but I also assist in procurement, product research, project management, and I manage our green building certifications and ratings.
  • How many years in the business?
  • I’ve been in the family business 7 years as of 2023.
  • What brings you inspiration?
  • Colored-outside-the-lines songwriting – when musicians strive to be original artists. Also, visual art, nature and gardening.
  • What do you love to do?
  • I play keyboards and sing in a number of bands and really love being on stage. My favorite aspect of musicianship is writing a song idea, collaborating on it with my bandmates, honing it to perfection, then debuting it in front of an audience. It’s so cool to watch a song come to life and end up a crowd pleaser.
