Dear Rex and John,

It's embarrassing how long it has taken to write this letter of appreciation. Both Mike and I have recommended you several times to friends and acquaintances considering building a new home. Up to this point we haven't taken the time to sit down and write you both a note of gratitude for your fine work. This letter to you is long overdue and well-deserved.

Having moved several times before, we knew exactly what we wanted in a home when we came to Raleigh. In our past homes, there were always things we wished we could change, even though the homes were new. With your help, we were able to alter the initial plans and pick just the right finishing touches inside and out to make it our own. When we started this project, Mike and I had no idea the number of decisions that went into building a truly custom home. Without fail, you spelled out all of our options so that our home would reflect our unique personality. And oftentimes there were many options, but you still set them forth so that we could determine what was right for us.

I cannot tell you how many friends and neighbors (many of whom are contractors) have complimented the quality and comfort of our home. Rex, going into the building process, you indicated that you are fair-minded man of high integrity. It was obvious to us throughout the entire process that you are a man of your word. When we changed a window or door at the last minute, or decided to make one of the rooms larger than initially planned, it was a non-issue (at least that's how we perceived it!).

John, you are a maniac when it comes to production scheduling. We knew we could count on you to get us in our home when you promised! The quality and workmanship of our home was never once compromised because of other projects or weather. We have never worked with a superintendent so organized and particular. Nothing slipped by you and you never forgot a thing.

Mike and I have been in our home almost four years and still, to this day, we are thrilled that we chose you both to help us build our dream home. Not only are you professional, but you truly made it a fun experience. We still love everything about our home today. If we were ever to build again, it would be a pleasure to build another custom home with you.

Thank you very much for the most beautiful and wonderful home. Since the first visit to your office an year ago, every meeting and every step of the building process has been nothing but enjoyable. We both have been very skeptical about our ability to build a custom home, as we had heard rather unpleasant stories about the process. Your team has proven it completely wrong. Every suggestion that you made to us and every decision that you took for us has been nothing but the best. With in a month into the process we realized that you take pride in your work. That was enough to leave everything into your hands with out a second thought.

You are a great team, each with unique expertise. We wish we can work with John Houston for every project we undertake. If he were on Apollo - 13 there would not have been any problem. Just mention to John - it is taken care of. No questions asked. Though he didn't tell us, we feel he built our house as his own or even more. Everyday we wonder, how Mckenzie can keep things so smooth and clear in midst of thousands things happening at the same time. One phone call to him used to be our stress reliever.

Rex, we came to you not knowing what we want or what we are looking for. Most common comment we hear from our friends is "This house gives a feeling that you have been living here for a long time. Every corner reflects you." Our dream home came alive because of your ability to give shape to our ideas and bring them to life.

During this process we not only gained a beautiful home but great friends, both of which are hard to find.

We loved the process of building this house (our 19th!) in The Hills of Rosemont, thanks to the combined efforts of the Bost team. Rex has incredible design sense; he was able to take an idea we had and turn it into reality. No detail or request was too insignificant to get his full attention. John, the building supervisor, ran a tight ship, kept us fully informed, and was responsive to our questions. The subcontractors have great respect for him and he is a genius at scheduling such that the house was delivered earlier than promised and in time for our daughter's wedding! Your experience and knowledge was invaluable during the project and you assumed all responsibility for making sure the project was completed on time and within our budget constraints. We were quite pleased to learn that whenever you discovered an item that was not done right, you made sure it was done over to your satisfaction. The results came through loud and clear from the independent inspector we hired. His final report noted that the workmanship and materials used were generally superior to those found in homes of comparable price range and size seen in this area.

Dan and Dee Miller were perfectly happy in their home by Rex Bost Construction in Cary's Wessex neighborhood, but suddenly got new-home fever as they saw another Rex Bost creation coming to life.

"We watched this house being built because it's on a main road that we use a lot, and one day we just stopped and went in. We thought, 'Gosh, this is a beautiful house.' Several months later, we walked through it again and talked to the builder, who happened to have been our builder in Wessex," explains Dee.

The Millers discussed the situation for about a month, deciding that any move they made was going to have to be worthwhile. They didn't want to move into something similar to what they had, particularly since they were pretty happy where they were.

"We really didn't have intentions of moving, but we started looking around and kind of got the fever," she laughs. "We kept having this house in the back of our minds."

At the beginning of November, the couple finally closed on the home they had fallen in love with, a Parade of Homes entry built on an acre lot in Cary's Preston neighborhood. It is almost twice the size of their Wessex home, with a third-floor media room, which Dee jokingly calls Dan's "dude room."

Prior to deciding on the Preston home, the Millers had looked for a short while at existing homes in Cary, but couldn't find what they wanted. Dee said she finds the new construction clean and appealing. In addition, she and Dan were able to select certain options, including wall colors and faucet fixtures.

"The nice thing is that we have a one-year warranty with the builder, who will fix anything that needs to be fixed. To be quite honest, I've never bought a house that wasn't brand-new."

Being able to work with their previous builder on the new house ensured a smooth building and closing process.

"We dealt directly with Rex because we knew him personally. Rex really wants to please people. I think it was a benefit to him to have a previous owner of one of his homes want to stay with him," Dee said.
